Position: Quality Assurance Specialist

Position Description:
We are currently developing an Eclipse RCP based server/client application for management of distributed security devices (called Tofino Appliances) for use in industrial settings (See the Tofino material on our website for more information on this project). We are looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist who has the skills to do the following:
1. Create test plans and execute test cases
2. Analyze test results, generate test reports, record and document defects in the Defect Tracking System.
3. Define release plans and release procedures
Qualifications
- Technical Diploma or a B.Sc.
- Previous experience as a QA analyst
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Nice to have: experience with networking and security
Position: Software Developer
Location: Nanaimo, BC
Position Description:
We are currently developing an Eclipse RCP based server/client application for management of distributed security devices (called Tofino Appliances) for use in industrial settings (See the Tofino material on our website for more information on this project). We are looking for a senior developer with the following skills (in priority order)
1 Java Programming Skills
2 Knowledge of Eclipse RCP Application Development
3 Solid experience with good software development practices
4 Relational Database Design and Programming
5 XML, XPATH, XQUERY
6 Solid Linux Programming Knowledge
7 Understanding of Network Security (especially iptables)
8 Windows Programming in C#, or C/C++ (this is just nice to have)
Your initial responsibilities will include coding of Eclipse plugins for the RCP based Network Security product. This includes system design, code development, docs, unit-tests, code-reviews, and bug-fixes. Depending on your skill level this will evolve into leading a team to develop new product modules for the Tofino Industrial Security Solution product line.
You should be a good team player that works well on joint development efforts, as this is a multifaceted project. You should also understand processes for creating systems that are highly reliable. Having a good knowledge of network security is desirable but not essential. You should be prepared to work on projects that are truly cutting edge, interesting and mission critical for our clients. Finally you should want to work for a rapidly growing company that wants to create a work environment that is fun and supportive, with plenty of opportunity to continue learning.
Position: Senior Embedded Systems Developer
Location: Nanaimo, BC
Position Description:
We are currently developing an embbed-Linux distributed security device (called a Tofino Appliance) for use in industrial settings (See the Tofino material on our website for more information on this project). We are looking for a senior embedded systems developer with the following skills (in priority order
1. Good understanding of the Linux kernel (building and configuring)
2. Low level protocol knowledge (IP, ARP, etc.)
3. Linux socket programming
4. C and C++ development on Linux
5. Understanding of Network Security (especially encryption, iptables firewall)
Your initial responsibilities will include package cross-compilation, embedded linux device driver development, and management of the embedded Linux system used for the Tofino Units. Coding proficiency in C is a must since all Tofino Appliance source code is written in C. Standard software development practices are also expected such as; solid system design documentation, code development, test-plan development, unit-tests, code-reviews, and bug-fixes. Depending on your skill level this will evolve into leading a team to develop new product modules for the Tofino Industrial Security Solution product line.
